Recently, students have been working with the 123 Design application in class. 123 Design is a C.A.D. (Computer Aided Design) program in which a student can create three dimensional objects using applications of measurement and geometry. After creating an object, it can be printed by a 3D printer.
Students are now using the skills they have learned while working with 123 Design to create a Native American artifact. The artifact represents the Native American cultures that they have learned about recently in Social Studies. This week, students concentrated on picking an artifact, drawing it, measuring its dimensions, and writing a justification paragraph that explained why they chose that particular artifact.
Students look forward to creating and printing their artifact with the help of middle school students from Sutherland Middle school in the near future!
